John McGlynn - Chairman
John McGlynn (36) founded his first business as a hobby whilst at university studying accounts then law. Having opened and acquired other businesses Airlink group is now the largest Scottish car parking owner and one of the largest private property groups in Scotland.
The Groups main activity is commercial property specialising in off airport properties. Current projects include a 25 acre airport business park as well as an 8 acre business park close to the 2014 Commonwealth Games site in Glasgow. The most recent divisions are Datastore that specialises in document storage and management and Storage Vault the self storage arm.
John is the founder of Scotland House in Estonia and is involved in the Scotland House Projects in New Delhi, New York, Dubai, Poland, Australia and the Cook Islands.
John is Vice Chairman of IAPRA, The Independent Airport Park and Ride Association. Chairman of the sister organisation in Scotland, member of the Business School Council at Strathclyde University, a Director of the Entrepreneurial Exchange in Scotland and a founder of the Entrepreneurial Exchange in London.
In 2009 the First Minister appointed John as an Ambassador to Business Club Scotland and asked him to serve on the National Economic Forum. He was also appointed as Travel Envoy and Business Ambassador to Glasgow Airport.
John is a regular speaker at business events and supports many charities.
Jamie Cumming - Property Director
Jamie Cumming is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with over 10 years of experience in the commercial property market.
Prior to joining Airlink Group, Jamie worked as Head of Industrial Agency & Development at Global real estate consultancy CB Richard Ellis. His experience includes the disposal of a £17m UK wide industrial property portfolio and advising on the disposal of various commercial properties in the Eurocentral Scheme on behalf of Muse Developments and Tritax Assets. As part of his role here, Jamie also provided strategic advice on planning and development to various UK based clients including St Martins, AG Barr, CBRE Investors and Buccleuch Group.
Since joining Airlink in 2008, in his role as Group Property Director, Jamie has been involved in the acquisition of various commercial properties amounting to circa £10m in value, asset management of over 1.5 million sq ft, letting various assets and strategic planning and development of existing and newly acquired sites. More recently, Jamie has successfully led the property team in obtaining planning consent for a 7 acre mixed use scheme close to Glasgow City Centre.
In his current role Jamie is also tasked with managing the Group’s commercial property portfolio, implementing the property strategy and identifying new opportunities in the commercial property market through asset management, development and acquisition.
Anthony McAteer - Business Development Manager
Having graduated in 2011 from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BA (Hons) in Risk Management. Anthony joined Airlink in November 2011 to the newly created role of Business Development Manager.
Prior to joining the Company, Anthony took part in the renowned Saltire Foundation Programme. The Saltire Internship gives talented and ambitious students the chance to experience the working environment of some of the world's most successful companies. Anthony worked for the Wood Group Oil and Gas Services Company in Houston, Texas where he worked on numerous projects to improve operations and market the company.
Anthony is already involved in a variety of projects and is looking forward to increasing the Company’s market strategy in 2012.
Brian Gifford – Company Accountant
Brian Gifford is a qualified Chartered Accountant and currently a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Having graduated from University of Strathclyde in 2008 with a BA in Accounting and Economics, Brian worked at Baker Tilly UK Audit LLP for the last 3 years, giving him experience in all areas of accountancy but particularly within Audit. Working with a top ten firm exposed him to a wide variety of industry sectors working with companies ranging from owner managed businesses to AIM listed clients.
Brian brings this knowledge and experience to Airlink in his position of Company Accountant and with this new role, will begin implementing in-house accounting processes and procedures as well as providing accurate a timely financial information to assist with future business decisions. This will involve working closely with all the Senior Management Team going forward to achieve this.
Victoria Scott – PA to Chairman and Managing Director
Since joining the company in January 2012 Victoria has taken on the task of organising and managing Airlink Head Office.
Victoria started her working career in Ophthalmics, as a Dispensing Optician where she spent two years in a career which required extensive use of technical expertise and good customer service skills. Having excelled in the early stage of her career Victoria then went on to work as company book keeper for an independent optical tailor ensuring that all transactions were recorded in a consistent and reliable manner.
Throughout her time with Airlink Victoria will continue to liaise closely with senior management to provide administrative support as well co-ordinating their very busy schedules.
